Museum Spotlight Exhibit: Harleys & Hollywood
Sunday, Mar 7
Motorcycles and movies have gone together since the days of silent film. After decades of cameo appearances, Harley-Davidson’s breakthrough role came in 1953 with The Wild One, and in the years since both celebrities and movie characters have relied on motorcycles to express their personality. The Harley-Davidson Museum tells the story of how motorcycles impacted pop culture and "Harleys & Hollywood" shows examples of this ongoing fascination.
See bikes from movies G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Star Trek, and Wild Hogs along with bikes owned by Clark Gable, Steve McQueen, Ludacris and Jesse James.
Exhibit runs February 12 - March 14.

Milwaukee Film Festival premieres 'La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet'
A must-see film for ballet lovers!
Milwaukee Film recently announced their Milwaukee Film Festival – Winter Edition, taking place March 12-18 at Marcus North Shore Cinema (11700 North Port Washington Road) in Mequon.
The festival is a mini-version of the organization’s fall festival and will feature 10 critically acclaimed films never before seen in Milwaukee.
One of these films we thought you may have a particular interest in is La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet, a 2009 behind-the-scenes documentary that follows the rehearsals and performances of seven legendary ballets and artfully captures the collaborative effort of choreographers, ballet masters, dancers, musicians, and costume, set, and lighting designers as they prepare for a crowd of 300,000.
The film is a French language film with English subtitles and is 159 minutes long. La Danse: The Paris Opera Ballet will screen:
*Friday, March 12 at 5:45 p.m.
Sunday, March 14 at 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 18 at 12:30 p.m.
*Alverno Presents is co-presenting the Friday night screening. La Danse subjects Odette Hughes (Associate Artistic Director of Random Dance) and Antoinne Vereecken (longtime dancer with the Random Dance company) will be present for this screening, and will participate in a question and answer session when the film concludes.
Visit www.milwaukee-film.org/winter.shtml to buy tickets and to learn more about the other films screening at the winter edition.
