On Christmas Day Eve I thought. “It is time to think about the New Year Resolutions we need to make that we never keep.” And then I thought, why do we do that? We all say the usual; lose weight, change jobs, make more time for ourselves, etc, etc , but we never keep these “Resolutions”. Why? Because they are not what we really need to make a change in our lives.
So my challenge for you this week is this; give yourself the time to LISTEN to your gut as to what you really would like or need to change this year. What is your true heart desire? Allow yourself to just think about it this week, while you are driving, during some of those rare quite moments, over a cup of coffee. What is it that you TRULY would like to see different? Do you need to change jobs, change locations, or change the friends you hang with? What is it?
Then on New Year’s Eve write it down and tape or place it where you can see it every day for reinforcement. However, you need to take it a step further, just like a business plan, list what you need to get there. Start with the small steps and work up to be successful. If we try to make drastic changes too quickly we set ourselves up for failure.
So that is my challenge for you and me. Are you ready to accept it?!
